Grant Canyon is a scenic Oregon county without the hustle and bustle of the city life. More of the land in Grant County is public than private, so there is plenty of space available for outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, skiing, camping, fishing, hiking, and bird watching. Fort Vancouver consists of 366 acres. Fort Vancouver has several facilities available to rent for events: the Pearson Air Museum, the Marshall House, the O. O. Howard House, the Grant House, Hamilton Hall, a small arboretum, a bandstand, a picnic shelter, and a land bridge. The arboretum is located on the northeast corner of Evergreen and Reserve and can accommodate up to 25 people. The bandstand can accommodate up to 200 people. The picnic shelter, located southeast of the Visitor Center, can accommodate up to 60 people and is available first come first served at no charge during park hours. After hours, the picnic shelter can be reserved and a special use fee applies. The land bridge is available for running and walking events.

The Grant House was built in 1848 and is the oldest building on Officers Row. The house is now a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The Hudson Bay company set up a European settlement for trappers in Champoeg, just Southeast of Newberg in 1843. Farmers and pioneers soon settled the area and Newberg was given its name in 1863. Hanley Farm is a 39 acre farm with an 1850s house, barns, gardens, and exhibits of farm equipment. The farm is available to rent for private events. The US Hotel was built around 1880 and has a ballroom available to rent for events.
